Job description
LCB Finance PLC, one of the best-capitalized finance companies in the non-banking financial sector under the supervision of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, is seeking a proactive and experienced Attorney-at-Law to join its legal team at the Head Office in Kohuwala.
Key responsibilities:
- Attend courts and other forums to protect the company's interests, particularly in recovery of loans in default
- Initiate and coordinate timely legal action; draft legal documents and institute and defend legal actions
- Prepare and review title reports, mortgage bonds and other legal instruments
- Provide legal opinions and advice
- Negotiate settlements with defaulters / litigants while safeguarding the company's interests
- Maintain accurate legal records and case files
- Handle matters with Land Registries and other government institutions
- Coordinate with branches, recovery officers and external Attorneys-at-Law

Requirements
- Attorney-at-Law with a minimum of 2 years' experience in court work and notarial work
- Practical experience in recovery litigation, banking, finance or a financial institution is a distinct advantage
- Sound knowledge of conveyancing, title reports, mortgage bonds and security documents
- Computer literacy
- Proficiency in Sinhala and English (oral and written)
- Strong analytical, decision-making, negotiation and communication skills
