Client: US based organization
Experience: 5+ years
Cayto Group is looking for an experienced Senior Fund Accountant to work closely with the client’s US Controller and support nonprofit fund accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage endowment tracking and accounting
Account for donor restricted funds, including release of restrictions
Record donations, scholarships, and grants
Reconcile endowment and scholarship funds to underlying investment accounts and securities
Support accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
Analyze and resolve accounting issues and provide technical support to the client
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of accounting experience
Strong experience with US Not-for-Profit / Nonprofit accounting
Solid understanding of net assets with and without donor restrictions
Knowledge of release from donor restrictions
Understanding of the Statement of Functional Expenses
Strong spoken and written English — this role involves regular calls with a US Controller
Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT experience is highly preferred
Ideal Background
Candidates with experience in:
Big 4 / large accounting firm US nonprofit audit or assurance
International NGOs, foundations, universities, or membership organizations
US GAAP nonprofit financial reporting
Important: This is nonprofit fund accounting, not private equity, hedge fund, or investment fund accounting. Experience with capital accounts, waterfalls, carried interest, subscriptions, or redemptions does not align with this role.
